What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Forms

When you fill in any contact forms on the website, we will keep the information about you that you supply to us for the sole purpose of communicating with you.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Customer Information

If you become our customer, we will collect the customer information necessary to communicate, provide services, send invoices and fulfil our regulatory and taxation obligations. Examples of such information include names, emails, telephone numbers, business addresses, and ABN/ACN numbers.

In the course of providing the service of working on your website and social media accounts, it may be necessary for you to share confidential authentication information (e.g. passwords, passkeys, MFA) with us. In this case, we will ensure that any confidential information you share with us will be secured to the best of our ability. In case there is any data breach (that will affect your confidential information) on our side that we are aware of, we will inform you as soon as we can.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with anyone else except in circumstances where we are legally obligated, and to fulfil our regulatory and taxation obligations.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you cease being our customer, we will still retain your customer information for our record keeping. However, any confidential authentication information that you share with us will be disposed of. If you decide to become our customer again, you will have to re-share them with us.
